Bridge to Serve

At Rhea's Mill we help bridge the gap between willing believers & areas of opportunity. Jesus was and continues to be our model, and from Him we learn the value of serving others. We can serve within the church walls, outside in our communities, and across the world.

Children and Teacher in Kindergarten

Kid Min (K-5th)

for those who enjoy working with kids
 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engage kids to help them learn scripture, how to pray, & worship

  • Have a personal relationship with The Lord that is evident in and out of church

    • Be able to articulate the Gospel and have a fundamental understanding of Biblical principles

  • Background check (no cost)

  • Leadership meeting every other month

  • Curriculum & supplies provided

  • Kraze Leader (2nd graders)

    • Commit to Wednesday nights from 5:45-7:45pm where you will…

      • attend the large group time with 2nd graders

      • break out with just 2nd graders teach scripture & how to pray & worship

        • Curriculum is provided, and prep is very simple

 

  • Small Group Leaders/Partners

    • You would be partnering with an existing leader experienced in the role to help kids learn scripture, & how to pray & worship

    • Curriculum is provided, and prep is very simple

      • Kindergarten 

        • Wednesday nights 5:45-7:45pm

      • 2nd & 3rd Grades

        • Sunday mornings 1st Hour- 9:15-10:45am

      • 2nd Grade

        • Sunday mornings 2nd Hour- 10:45am-12:15pm

      • 3rd Grade

        • Sunday mornings 2nd Hour- 10:45am-12:15pm

      • 4th & 5th Grade Boys

        • Sunday mornings 2nd Hour- 10:45am-12:15pm

 

  • Small Group Subs

    • You would fill in, on occasion, as a substitute when our K-5th leaders are ill, traveling, etc. Everything you’d need to lead would be provided ahead of time.

 

  • Kids Club Host

    • Sunday mornings 2nd hour- 10:45am-12:15pm, big group time

    • Have a fun, big presence to help welcome kids to the large group time, set expectations, host a short game for fun, then introduce Dani to teach the Bible lesson

Media & Music

for those with A/V, vocal & instrumental skills

AV/PRODUCTION GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Monthly rotation on Sunday mornings

  • No background check or experience required

  • Training: shadowing, followed by assisting until comfortable to serve solo in the role​

Microphones
  • Graphics Team 

    • Monthly, Sundays 7:30am-12:30pm

    • Help set up and run slides throughout both worship services

 

  • Audio Team  

    • Monthly, Sundays 7:30am-12:30pm

    • Set up and adjust sound throughout both worship services

 

  • Stream Team  

    • Monthly, Sundays 10:30am-12:30pm

    • Run cameras to record and stream the service

    • Adjust sound and graphics specifically for the online audience

WORSHIP TEAM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Initial Application & Audition Process 

    • Discussion of spiritual leadership maturity and an assessment of current musical leadership readiness

  • Pursue a daily, personal relationship with The Lord that is evident on & off the platform

  • Have home access to your instrument for practice throughout the week

  • Be able to play with a metronome

  • All rehearsal tracks and sheet music provided by Rhea’s Mill

  • MUSICIANS & VOCALISTS 

    • Musicians: bass, electric, and acoustic guitars, drums, keyboard/piano

      • other instruments could be included as needed

    • Male & Female Vocalists

    • Monthly commitment on Sundays 7:15am-12:30pm

      • more opportunities available if desired

      • team members expected to take at least one sabbatical week per month

Curious Girl

Early Childhood

for those who enjoy working with preschoolers

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have a personal relationship with The Lord that is evident in and out of church

  • Babies

    • Commit to a Sunday rotation, weekly or every other week

      • 1st hour from 9:15-10:45am where you will

      • Care for little ones under 15m old (feeding, diapering, rocking)

      • Sing simple songs and teach them that Jesus loves them

  • Ones

    • Commit to a Sunday rotation, weekly or every other week

      • 1st hour from 9:15-10:45am where you will

      • Care for little ones under 2yrs old (feeding, diapering, rocking)

      • Sing simple songs, read stories, and teach them that Jesus loves them

  • Twos

    • Commit to a Sunday rotation, weekly or every other week

      • 1st hour from 9:15-10:45am 

      • OR 2nd hour from 10:45am-12:15pm

      • Care for little ones under 3yrs old (snack time, diapering/toilet training)

      • Teach simple Bible lessons, help them do crafts, or play games

  • Threes

    • Commit to a Sunday rotation, weekly or every other week

      • 1st hour from 9:15-10:45am 

      • Care for little ones under 4yrs old (snack time, toilet training)

      • Teach simple Bible lessons, help them do crafts, or play games

  • Fours

    • Commit to a Sunday rotation, weekly or every other week

      • 1st hour from 9:15-10:45am 

      • OR 2nd hour from 10:45am-12:15pm

      • Care for little ones under 5yrs old (snack time, toilet training)

      • Teach simple Bible lessons, help them do crafts, or play games

First Impressions Team

help make Rhea's Mill safe & welcoming

  • Greeters 

    • Serve on a rotating schedule every few weeks

    • Sundays 1st or 2nd hour

    • Hold doors open, smile and greet people as they arrive

 

  • Info Desk Team  

    • Serve on a rotating schedule every few weeks

    • Stand at the info desk, smile and greet people

    • Help answer questions for guests, find where to check in their children, or how to get to a life group

  • Brew Crew 

    • Arrive early on Sunday mornings to help brew and set up the coffee station

    • Initial training session- shadow current crew member to learn

    • Serve on a rotating schedule every few weeks

    • Help clear the coffee station after 2nd hour has begun

Youth Club Meeting

Student Ministry

for those who enjoy mentoring 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have a personal relationship with The Lord that is evident in and out of church

    • Be able to articulate the Gospel and have a fundamental understanding of Biblical principles

  • Engage 6th-12th graders weekly on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings

  • Background check required (no cost)

  • Leadership meeting every other month

  • Curriculum provided

  • Small Group Leaders serve with the same kids as they age up each year, helping students form meaningful, trusting relationships with adult mentors as they mature.

Small Group Leaders 

  • Commit to Wednesday nights from 6-8pm where you will…

  • Eat dinner with students (meal provided)

  • Play games with students

  • Lead a small group discussion with questions provided (minimum prep required)

  • Lead students to pray together    

  • Attend occasional small group outings with your students

  • Attend Summer Camp & Winter Retreat if possible

  • Some small group leaders serve either on Sunday or Wednesday, but not both. If you’d be interested in serving one day, but not the other, that could be an option!

Cooks

  • Prepare the meal for about 60 people

  • Have the dinner hot & ready to serve at the church at 5:45pm on Wednesday

  • Serve just once, or on a rotation about every 2-3 months

  • Plan to cook solo, or form a team to bring a meal together

    • Small groups can serve together: 2 people bring the entrée, 2 people bring sides, 2 people bring dessert, etc. 

  • $90 is budgeted by the church and will hopefully increase in the Fall

  • You can turn in receipts for reimbursement up to $90, or provide the meal as an offering

  • Serve the meal with a smile & help clean up afterward

    • Other leaders help out as well, you will have extra hands

Adult Groups & Studies

for those who organize & teach

  • Life Group Leaders 

    • Lead solo OR partner with another adult/couple to share the responsibilities of leading a small group of adults

    • Meet on campus or in-homes

    • Any day of the week

    • Choose your own studies/materials

    • Facilitate group discussion of Biblical topics

    • Pray for each other & send out prayer requests to the group

    • Check on members and care for those who have needs

    • Occasionally organize fellowship or service opportunities for the group

 

  • Short Term Study Leader  

    • Lead a 6-12wk study for adults, typically gender specific, but could be couples

    • Choose your own study

    • Meet on campus or in-homes

    • Any day of the week

    • Facilitate group discussion of the study content weekly & pray together

Facilities Support

  • Chair Wranglers 

  • Physically able to stack, move, and arrange chairs and tables

  • Initial 1hr training to learn where things are & how they’re set up

  • Commitment:

  • As needed before and after events, with advance notice

  • OR

  • Sunday mornings before 9:30am to help set up chairs for small groups
